Snow Day

Today we went up to the snow for the afternoon and had a great time.  This was Rylee’s first trip to the snow but luckily her curiosity vastly outweighed her timidness and she jumped right in.  Here’s a little video of our adventure.

In other news, I’m currently working on some New Year’s Resolutions which I am really excited about and will be posting more on later.  Stay tuned!

Life in a Standstill

traffic-jam

Have you ever been so busy with so many things diverting your attention that life just comes to a stand still? I have, and boy can if be frustrating! 2009 has been a very busy year for both myself and our family but a productive one nonetheless. Unfortuneately, as usual when your time and attention are being pulled in multiple directions, things like cleaning, life planning, and blogging get put on the back burner. My sincere apologies to the two of you that read my blog, I’ll try to do better in 2010! The good news is that the traffic jam has started to clear up and hopefully 2010 will not only be a year of productivity but balance as well.

Ain’t no party like a west coast party cause a west coast party don’t stop…until about 11:00 pm

1234I’m getting old!  How did I ring in the new year?  By sleeping.  That’s right, for New Year’s Eve Kari, Rylee, and I went over to my sister’s house for a nice little family party.  We ordered Chinese Food, watched Iron Man, and chased the kids around the house until about 11:00 pm at which time Kari and I both hit the wall and decided to go home and go to bed.  So for the first time in recent memory, I was actually sleeping to ring in the new year.   Exciting stuff huh?

Order Food Through Your Nintendo Wii

Like ordering pizza for delivery but hate the hassle of talking to another human being on the telephone?  Well beginning this spring you will be able to order food directly from your Wii… if you live in Japan.   The “Food Delivery Channel” will feature pizza, sushi, Chinese food, Japanese food, Western food, curry, and more all delivered right to your doorstep with minimal human interaction.  I’m sure that it’s only a matter of time before Nintendo creates an army of robot delivery men to remove any trace of human interaction.  Who knows what Nintendo will do with their robot army once they crush the Japanese food delivery market.  My guess… invade China.

Fold your way into the record books

Tomorrow afternoon Poker Stars will be attempting to break a world record for the largest poker tournament ever, and I plan to be a part of it!  The $10 + $1 buy-in tournament is being capped at 35,000 entrants but boasts a $500,000 prize pool including a hefty $30,000 first place prize.  For you math majors out there, you may have already done the calculations and realized that Poker Stars is throwing in an extra $150,000 into the prize pool just to sweeten the pot.  The possibility of such a massive payout with a minimal buy-in and the chance to be part of a record setting poker tournament has the online poker scene so excited that the event sold out over a day in advance.  Luckily I was able to sneak into the tournament when someone dropped out, which is much easier said than done.  Seriously, how many times do you have a shot at $30,000 for a buy-in of $11?
